The Nedbank IMC Conference 2020




Event App as Virtual Platform



Originally scheduled to take place in March 2020, the sold-out Nedbank IMC 2020 went virtual on 24 July 2020 as the first-of-its-kind virtual marketing conference in Africa.

With 1,200 delegates logging in on the day, the conference trended on Twitter as it screened its stellar line-up of 18 speakers live. Speakers presented seamlessly from green screen studios in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Miami and London. The conference achieved an overall rating of 92% (Excellent/Very Good) from delegates on the day and is being lauded as the new virtual conference benchmark.

Pixel Nation Inc, live & virtual event specialists, procured Ovation ART to provide the virtual platform for the event. IMC managed the RSVPs and bookings for the event internally. The guest list was imported to our event app with our team of hostesses contacting each guest prior to the event to ensure all guests were comfortable accessing the platform. 900 of the 1200 guests were onboarded a day prior to the conference! Being such an integral part of the live broadcast, pushing out notifications, live chat support, queuing live polls, assisting speakers with live Q&A, whilst assisting guests with any queries was exhilarating! Virtual events brought us inside the room rather than outside doing registration and waiting to transport guests back to the airport once the show is done. A firm indicator of the importance of audience relationship management at virtual events. 

Key features used during the conference were our live polling, live Q&A, virtual booths, and networking with over 240 contacts shared on the day.
